Disability Support Coordinator for Keegan

We are looking for a coordinator to join our team providing disability support to Keegan, who is 25 years old.

Initially, you will spend time becoming part of the team and learning all aspects of the support in place.  You will then progressively take on other tasks, such as managing the roster, supervising staff, developing action plans and generally keeping an eye on the day-to-day running of the house.  You will help Keegan organise his life: vocational, socialising, finding flatmates, ...

We are setting up a community project around him (on a lifestyle block), so there is plenty of action and many opportunities to shine if you would like to get involved.

Applicants will need to be able to fit into a household with discretion and tact and bring their smile and sense of humour with them.

It is expected that you will work some hours as a support worker and about 10 hours a week as a coordinator.

Prerequisites:
  • background in the disability sector, with exposure to fields such as Occupational or Diversional Therapy
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships
  • strong organisational skills
  • team management and leadership
  • attention to details and time management skills
Are you reliable, punctual, wanting to be of service and commit some of your time to someone who relies on others for his daily activities?

Starting now.  Location: Thames-Paeroa area.  There is the option to live on site, either temporarily or permanently (negotiable).

We follow the Pay Equity legislation and try to reward our staff with competitive wages.
